The Tony Ray SUN XXIV Tug Boat is a highly detailed 1/20 scale wooden model boat kit, designed for builders looking for a rewarding project that can be equipped as a fully functioning radio-controlled model.

Measuring 720mm long, 180mm wide and 270mm high, the SUN XXIV has an impressive presence on the water while remaining a practical size for transport and storage.

The model features a traditional tug boat design with a laser-cut plywood and timber construction. Precision-cut tabs and notches allow the main components to interlock during assembly, helping the builder achieve a square and accurate structure. The hull is built up over formers before being planked with Paulownia strips, giving the modeller the satisfaction of constructing and finishing a traditional wooden hull.

A wealth of scale details brings the finished SUN XXIV to life, including an anchor and winch assembly, lifeboat, tow hook, railings, ladder, chimney, navigation lights, water tank, whistle, steering wheel and copper bell. The kit also includes a 3W LED module, allowing additional working detail to be incorporated into the finished model.
