In my foolish youth I was a model maker. But I needed this iron ‘cos of its small size though mainly because of its precise temperature display and control. I like mending my own outdoor gear… tents, waterproofs etc. I often use iron on tape and patches. But I’ve found that even “no-iron-required” repairs are stronger and more durable if heat is applied. But the settings on a regular iron are too imprecise and vary from one brand of iron to another. This little iron allows setting to 1 degree accuracy and I was able to confirm its temperature display accuracy with an infra red thermometer. Just the job and didn’t break the bank. I’m also considering hiring MS in December. MS works at the shop and packed the iron for despatch. Perfectly hand wrapped in brown paper. I’ve never given or received a gift that was so neatly wrapped! Anyway, the iron does what it says in its description. I took the opportunity to add a spare “sock” to my order to avoid another order and postage costs.
