The BOOST 180 is a 28-pole BLDC (brushless outrunner) motor. Designed in-house by Pichler using the latest technology, it impresses with its superior quality, peak performance, and robustness. What many don't know: In the early 2000s, Pichler was one of the pioneers on the German market to fully embrace the outrunner concept and offer corresponding motors. The open design is groundbreaking, as the propeller's airflow optimally cools the motor internally. Only a cool-running motor delivers consistently high performance. The practical, integrated propeller mount is precisely matched to the propeller sizes used with motors of this size. No additional adapters are necessary, such as those requiring excessive drilling of the propellers, which weakens them. A sturdy, milled 4-point mounting ring allows for easy installation in the model. An additional, large ball bearing provides rock-solid support for the rear of the engine bell housing (bell support bearing), ensuring perfect concentricity and preventing damage to the shaft bearings.

The BOOST 180 engine is a powerful replacement for gasoline engines with a displacement of approximately 45-55cc. The specially developed BMG-80 gearbox is also available for this engine, allowing the use of propellers larger than 25 inches.
