P-47 Thunderbolt GP/EP SCALE 16% ARF
The Phoenix P-47 Thunderbolt is a true-to-life warbird with a 2.01m wingspan. The model has an extremely light and high-strength wooden construction and is designed for electric or combustion engines.
The original
The Republic P-47 Thunderbolt was the largest, heaviest, and most expensive fighter in history powered by a single piston engine. She was heavily armed with eight .50 caliber machine guns (four per wing). Fully loaded, the P-47 weighed up to eight tons and in the fighter-bomber and ground attacker role could carry five-inch rockets or a substantial 2,500-pound bomb load—more than half the weight of the B-17 bomber could wear on long-haul flights.
The model - absolutely true to the original
This Phoenix model is in no way inferior to its role model. Many beautiful detailed solutions make the P-47 look like the original when viewed on the ground. A rear-view mirror, antennas and 8 armaments complete the "scale" picture. And even in the air, the model gives an absolutely "scale" flight image, which can hardly be distinguished from the flight image of the man-carrying prototype. The cockpit, pilot and instruments are also realistically modeled in the cabin.
Wooden construction with an enormously high degree of prefabrication
The model is made of extremely light and high-strength balsa/plywood construction. The laser-cut construction impresses with an enormously high degree of prefabrication, which reduces the construction effort almost to the installation of the drive and electronics. Under the large removable canopy there is plenty of space for installing the electronics. The P-47 is completely covered with foil.
Electric retractable landing gear included
The model comes with an electrically retractable main landing gear and an electrically retractable nose gear. The landing gear legs are made entirely of CNC-machined metal.
electric or gas
This model can do both! The construction is prepared for both electric drive and combustion engine drive. So the only question is: killer sound or absolute efficiency?
